Los Angeles, CA –March 22, 2006 – FootageBank HD, the only footage company specializing in High Definition (HD) content, today announced its exclusive representation of clips from A Thousand Roads, the signature film of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI). Shot in super 35mm film and then output via a 4K scan to HD, the 40-minute film follows the lives of four contemporary Native Americans and includes visually compelling landscapes and portraits of Native peoples. The film was a collaboration of expert filmmakers and Native American advocates and artists and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005. It currently screens several times each day at the NMAI in Washington, D.C., a landmark-institution visited by more than 4 million people each year. “The images from this film are breathtaking, from rare footage of the Aurora Borealis to remote villages in Peru and all are perfect for commercial and theatrical application,” said Paula Lumbard, founder and president of FootageBank HD. “We are pleased FootageBank HD was chosen to represent footage from this unique look at Native American life.” About FootageBank |
