FootageBank HD Signs Deal Representing 70mm Footage LOS ANGELES, September 12, 2006 -- FootageBank HD, the sole footage company specializing in High Definition (HD) content, announced today they have been selected as the only HD house representing high quality 70mm footage provided by K2 Communications, a production and distribution organization specializing in emerging non-traditional media programming, including Giant Screen films, Digital 3D & 2D, Video on Demand, interactive media, branded content and High Definition television. K2’s catalogue for distribution and footage licensing includes Giant Screen films, music concerts, documentaries and action sports programming. The titles are a mixture of K2-produced and owned product, as well as programs from outside producers which K2 distributes for certain media. “Because these films were made in the highest resolution film format and then mastered to HD, we saw FootageBank HD, with its focus on the HD market, as an ideal footage house partner,” said Mark Kresser, vice president of distribution for K2 Communications. “While many of the filmmakers have occasionally licensed their own film clips, most of them do not have the time, staff or infrastructure to focus on this marketplace. Through packaging a number of our 70mm titles and having FootageBank HD market them to their target audience, we saw an opportunity to provide another value-added revenue stream to our producers.” Search for the Great Sharks Adrenaline Rush: The Science of Risk Chronos “The images coming to us from K2 are amazingly beautiful as they originate on 70mm film and are then mastered to HD D5.
