FootageBank HD Releases Third Edition of HD Format Guide
HD Stock Footage Company Helps Editors Around the World

LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2007 -- FootageBank HD, the only footage company specializing in High Definition (HD) content, today announced availability of its third edition of the HD Format Guide, the definitive source throughout the world as an easy-to-read tool for both new and experienced HD editors and users.

Designed as a working tool for the HD footage client, the new HD Format Guide has several additions and changes:

  • The poster size chart is easy-to-read and features simple layouts covering current and upcoming HD and HDV formats.
  • A terminology section helps demystify the terminology of HD image capture, scanning modes, conversion terminology and color sampling.
  • Details are provided regarding conversion solutions and options for both tape and data deliverables.

“We created the first HD Format Guide in 2002 because the world of HD was still relatively new and we kept hearing directly from clients that they were confused by all the varying HD format options,” explained Paula Lumbard, president and founder of FootageBank HD.  “Since that first edition, thousands of HD Format Guides have been distributed throughout the world and we are always getting feedback from people saying it is a vitally important tool.  This is a way of educating and contributing to the community in which we work and we are pleased it has so positively impacted the industry.”

To receive a free copy of the HD Format Guide, please contact FootageBank HD at info@footagebankhd.com or a downloadable version can be found online at www.footagebankhd.com.
