Since opening its doors in 2002, FootageBank HD has become the premier supplier of large format and HD images worldwide to television, theatrical, mobile, independent, and corporate media buyers. The FootageBank HD library represents more than 120 award winning HD, IMAX, and RED media producers, cinematographers and production companies from around the world. Customers include Warner Brothers Television, Sony Pictures, HBO, Microsoft, Verizon, and The Walt Disney Company.
Paula Lumbard, Founder & President
Paula Lumbard is the founder Footage Bank HD. As leader in the footage licensing business, she anticipated the coming demand for HD motion content and in 2002 created the first stock footage company specializing in HD-native content. Lumbard's career spans more than 20 years in content licensing. In 1985 she founded her first company, Film Bank, which established her as a leader and independent thinker in the archival footage business. Since then Lumbard has worked with major motion picture studios, sports leagues, production companies, and cinematographers from around the world to re-purpose their content for third party licensing.
Prior to her work in the content licensing business Lumbard spent several years producing special effects for features films and television, and was a member of the Emmy Award winning team that created the special effects for the classic TV film "The Day After."
Lumbard has written and published widely about the footage industry for various publications including High Def, HD Today, and Realscreen magazines. She is currently advocating for the preservation of value in both programming and clip licensing.
Paula is a graduate of the University of Washington, and has two graduate degrees, in the fine arts and psychology.
Carol Martin, Vice President
Carol Martin joined FootageBank HD at its inception after nearly a decade in stock footage sales and management at Film Bank, Sekani and Corbis Motion. Carol led the initial build out of FootageBank HD's websites and internal business management systems. She continues to be responsible for the company's internal technology, content ingestion, websites, recycling, and a sales team highly regarded for its efficient, fair and friendly style. Currently Carol is leading the migration of FootageBank HD's large format digital delivery systems and is managing the ingestion of 3D content. She received her BA from the University of California Santa Barbara and is an expert in the field of social networking.
